Astribank Spans Fail to Register

Problem

Astribank spans fail to register if all of the following conditions are met:

• The Astribank is an E1/T1 device with 1, 2 or 3 ports enabled
• DAHDI 2.4 is installed
• The 'pri_protocol' parameter is not explicitly defined in the /etc/dahdi/xpp.conf

In this case, the Astribank spans cannot be registered and will be displayed in the 'dahdi_hardware -v' output as 'unregistered'.

Solution

Define the 'pri_protocol' parameter in the /etc/dahdi/xpp.conf file and restart DAHDI.

For example:

pri_protocol E1

Note: This problem will be fixed in the next DAHDI release. The upcoming Elastix DAHDI 2.4 package will include a patch that fixes the problem.
