September 3, 2009 – Misgav, Israel and IT Expo West, Los Angeles, California – Xorcom, a privately-held manufacturer of business telephony interfaces and appliances based on Asterisk open source software, today announced that it has released Xorcom Rapid Live USB, a USB-compatible version of its free Rapid Live CD software that provides a fully functional Asterisk-based IP-PBX environment for the PC in just three minutes. The computer boots directly from the USB Disk-on-Key, leaving the PC hard drive unaffected. This environment is optimal for demonstration and training purposes.

Simple Three-Step Installation for a Fully Functional IP-PBX in 3 Minutes

Once the free software has been downloaded from the Xorcom Web site and copied onto a USB Disk-on-Key, installation of the IP-PBX is simple:

1. Connect a Xorcom Astribank channel bank to a USB 2.0 port on the computer.
2. Insert the Xorcom Rapid Live USB into a different USB 2.0 port on the computer making sure the BIOS is set to boot from the USB drive, and restart the computer.
3. When the menu is displayed, the Asterisk PBX and Astribank are operational.
