Astribank USB Channel Banks

Astribank is a USB channel bank especially designed for Asterisk Open Source PBX systems

Astribank connects to the Asterisk IP-PBX server via USB 2.0, thus eliminating the need for an intermediating PCI (the solution used by other channel banks). Click here to see a comparison between Astribank and legacy channel banks.

Modular, Flexible Channel Bank Grows with Your Telephony Needs

A single Astribank USB-connected channel bank supports various combinations of analog and/or digital telephony lines and trunks. See the "Configurations" tab in the table below for suggested configurations. Furthermore, the Astribank design allows customers to let the system grow along with their telephony needs. The digital modules support individual software activation of each port (up to four ports per PRI module, and up to eight ports per BRI module). In other words, customers purchasing a single E1/T1 port receive hardware that can support up to four active ports. When required, the additional port(s) can be activated remotely, via a software key. Additional analog modules can also be added as needed (each chassis supports up to four modules of eight analog ports each) for a maximum of 32 analog ports per chassis.

Mechanical Design

The internal design of Astribank is modular, offering a wide variety of FXS, FXO, E1/T1 PRI/R2/CAS, BRI ISDN and I/O port combinations. Click the "Configurations" tab above to see a table of available port combinations. Use our product configurator wizard to design the best telephony system to match your requirements.

Software

Astribank's driver has been included as an official part of Zaptel (now DAHDI) since release 1.2.4 (Feb. 2006), making Astribank integral with Asterisk systems. Today Astribank is tested with Debian and CentOS. Theoretically, Astribank is compatible with any modern Linux-based distribution.
