David Duffett*, well known in Asterisk circles for his playful personality and excellent training classes, was recently appointed Asterisk Worldwide Community Director. In his first blog post David announced that he has established a program for recognizing achievement of individuals and/or companies in the field of Asterisk:

We now have a special e-mail address (recognition@asterisk.org) for you to highlight the work of people, companies or neat Asterisk implementations that you think should be brought to the attention of the community for special recognition.

This is a great move, as it will certainly promote increased sharing of ideas and solutions, which is a basic premise of open source platforms in the first place!

*Some of you may also remember David in the role of the geriatric patient in Xorcom’s presentation at last year’s AstriCon.
