IP PBX ForumCategory: PBX How ToCharge of RTP port range
Larry NeblettLarry Neblett asked 5 years ago
Setting aide 10K ports for a 30 call system is overkill and while I understand that this is the default Asterisk range, I would like to change the range to a different range and make smaller. Changing via the GUI interface does not seem to be available. Do I assume the change is made via SSH in the /etc/asterisk/rtp.conf file? Can you advise?

Thanks

Hi Larry,

Currently there is no option to change it on WebUI, we have a task for doing that.
For manual change please edit file name : /etc/asterisk/ombutel/rtp__general.conf
You can set the start/end ports.
please make sure that you are restarting asterisk after the change

Thank you. I have a number of clients on other systems that were not set up with 4 digit extensions and are looking to move to another system. Should they elect to migrate, I am certain that they will want to maintain the same scheme they currently have.

Oops the comment I posted is the next question, that I was checking into, but the answer about the ports is also appreciated as some of these same clients are not on Asterisk based systems and at least I can match the ports currently used by the old system which will not require their IT guys to get involved.
