IP PBX ForumCategory: PBX How ToHow to setup a directory for Polycom VVX phones from CompletePBX5
Vince FleckVince Fleck asked 6 years ago
I would like my Polycom phones updated from my Xorcom CXE3048. I read about https://community.polycom.com/t5/VoIP-SIP-Phones/FAQ-How-can-I-create-a-local-directory-or-what-is-the/td-p/8216. Does any know if it can be done with out too much pain? I would prefer not to maintain a manual separate excel / xml file for Polycom. I would image that a file would be created from the Complete PBX5 the pushed to a FTP server that the Polycom phone could be pointed to. If any one has any ideas that would be greatly appreciated. I’m a bit of a newbie with Xorcom and Polycom.
Thanks Vince

Hi
We have a php page which can be used as remote directory for the Polycom. this page can show all the speedials from the PBX. so actually the Speeddial module will be the remote phonebook .

How does it sound to you ? does Polycom can support remote directory ?

I would like to give it a try. Do you have documentation on it?

Hi , we about to release a Phonebook module which will currently support Xorcom,Fanvil,Grandstrean and Yealink phones . It will create xml file for local extensions and phonebook entries . the xml files can be accessed via the PBX ( port 80 ) , so you can direct the phones to the PBX no need ant FTP server .

Since currently Polycom is not supported , we can create script which will create the xml manually based on the PBX phonebooks/extensions.

In case you need just extension name/number xml we can make some test now, in case you need external numbers please wait for the module

That’s great news! Extension name/number xml would be great. I would gladly do some testing
