Xorcom CompletePBX Separates from Ombutel

After two and a half years that Xorcom has been one of the driving forces behind the successful Ombutel project, today we are announcing we are parting ways with Ombutel.


The project was initially created by Telesoft and Xorcom and the two companies worked on it together for that entire time, bringing into the world a flexible, secure and friendly phone system software.

Ombutel also shared the core code base with CompletePBX 5 systems, which have also quickly gained popularity since the release at the end of 2016.

Why change?

As these two systems grew quickly and each project pulled in a different direction, we have decided to separate the two completely so that we can invest all of our focus, energy, and creativity in the continuing development and improvement of CompletePBX.  So starting September 1st the two systems are going to be completely separate, and each will evolve in its own way.  Telesoft acquired ownership over the Ombutel project and will continue to lead it and we are sending our best wishes to their success.  Xorcom will continue developing and improving CompletePBX, which from that point on, will no longer share the code base with the Ombutel project.

We have a lot of plans for CompletePBX for the upcoming months, with important features that we plan on adding, migration of Complete Concierge into CompletePBX 5 environment, adding support in 3rd party modules, improving UC capabilities and adding many features that our user base is requesting.

What changes will CompletePBX users experience?

Nothing.  CompletePBX keeps working the same way including updates, licensing, support and everything else.  The only thing you can expect to see is faster pace in new features, due to the improved focus of our R&D.
