We’ve known for quite some time that our appliances are especially suited to the hospitality vertical, which is characterized by aging proprietary equipment supporting multiple analog phone extensions.
Our Asterisk-based systems provide a low cost alternative to proprietary PBX while supporting both the PSTN and VoIP. In addition, the high densities of analog ports we support are unequaled, due to our XPP technology (based on USB2 connectivity), and special built-in functionality like Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) and input/output ports for peripheral devices are just the cherry on top.
Furthermore, we have recently certified a software interface between a variety of PMS – Property Management Systems (Micros, Protel, Optima, Amadeus Hospitality, etc.) and the Xorcom PBX. We call this bundled solution “Complete Concierge”, and you can read more about it on our Web site.
This development is so interesting that we have been invited to speak about it at the upcoming AstriCon, scheduled to take place Oct. 26-28 just outside of Washington D.C. In the speaking confirmation message for our topic “Penetrating the Hospitality Industry with Asterisk-based Solutions“, the Digium representative wrote:
“This has a lot of promise as a talk – I’ve not seen too many systems for Asterisk that interface with existing hotel billing systems. I’d really like this to be an overview of what those systems are, and the interfaces, and then how you can sell to/work with hotels to create solutions.”
That’s exactly our plan! Hope you can join us at the event. Of course, if you’d like to contribute a relevant implementation story to be covered in our presentation, we’d be honored…
