We had about 130 delegates in Ho Chi Minh city [Vietnam] and 240 delegates in Shenzhen [China] (both Business & Technical Track included).
We were quite happy with the crowd, but not ecstatic, as we know, it can be better. We were in Ho Chi Minh (HCM) for the AsterConferenceAsia 2007 where we had close to 40 delegates, so we can see that Asterisk is becoming more popular in Vietnam, and there is potential for much more growth. However, there is a language barrier, as most of the delegates could not speak much English, both in HCM and SZ. We had translators, but I’m not sure how effective they were.
In SZ, since this is the first time the AsterConferenceAsia was organised in China, I think the acceptance was encouraging. We also had a live feed of the conference in China, and there were over 100 logins to the site on the 1st day of the conference.”
